Plant a Shelterbelt
Suggested species for planting a
typical shelterbelt.

You will be looking for two or more rows, much wider than a hedge. The ideal shelter does not stop the wind. A tall layer filters and slows the wind by about 50% while a dense lower layer provides a more solid barrier at ground level. The length of the sheltered zone extends up to 20 times the height of the trees. Why not include some fruiting trees and shrubs on the sheltered side or perhaps some useful timber?

Take a look at the sundries available.
